Art Dolls by Kim's KreationsKim JelleyYou have just entered into the mystical, magical world of fine art doll artist Kim Jelley. Completely self taught, Kim began drawing as soon as she could pick up a pencil. As a teenager, her walls were covered with charcoal drawings, inspired mostly by master fantasy artist, Frank Frazetta.
In 1997, Kim was introduced to polymer clay by a friend. That night Kim went home and sculpted her very first mermaid and was completely addicted. The very next day she sculpted another mermaid and thus began her exciting dollmaking journey. In the year 2000, Kim won first prize in the Professional Dollmakers Prosculpt Contest for her Marilyn. Kim's work was featured in Doll in August of 2002, as well as Dolls magazine in May of 2002. Kim Jelley is an artist member of The Artist Doll Gallery, as well as AADA. Watch for word of the brand new book by Kathryn Witt, Contemporary American Doll Artists and Their Dolls that features Kim Jelley's work in early 2004. See the cover image that includes Kim's Blue Ice Faerie and read more about it here. Kim's breathtaking beauties are original, meticulously hand sculpted works of art, that will enrich your life with fantasy and wonder. Kim Jelley signs and numbers each polymer clay sculpture and supplies a certificate of authenticity. Her figurative sculptures are represented here by two index pages of her newest artist dolls and an index of previous works.
